Georgina Grey O’Caroll was a park ranger at the Mahkwa Asiipiomi (“Bear River” in Miami-Illinois) State Park, about 60 miles south-east of Tetraford. The Park covered a large, roughly rectangular area 38 miles north-south by 19 miles west-east, extending from the coastline in the north to deep in the Kipakinwia and Haverhill Ranges of the Rainy Mountains (called Tochchi'na Hashi or “Three Moon” by the Chickasaw Indians) in the south. And Georgina knew the whole area like the back of her hand.

She was a strong, smart, fit and healthy woman of 38 who loved her job and was good at it. She’d been a ranger for 9 years when she...died.
